Milling Attachment

Under construction!

This milling attachment base is the same as the new compound base. This allows the compound to be removed and the milling attachment easily mounted. The milling attachment base bolts to the cross-feed table t-slots. The milling table may be mounted without removing the compound, however, the positioning may not be as satisfactory.

The milling attachment has 4 t-slots for mounting objects in various configurations. It moves cross-ways using the lathe's cross-slide (x-axis). It moves towards and away from the spindle using the lathe's carriage (z-axis). It moves the milling table using the milling table slide (y-axis). Additionally the milling table can be pivoted on two axis. The table surface may be tilted at an angle to the spindle (pivot on the mount base). The table may be rotated around the spindle centerline (pivot on the right angle mount).

The tilting table holds the table pattern at the correct angle for the draft.
