Conversion of G4000 Lathe to CNC

I am now working on my CNC conversion of my lathe in earnest (I got my router running). I thought I would go ahead and post some info on my Lathe conversion.

I started my CNC conversion by replacing the AC motor with a variable speed DC motor.

My controller chassis has my PS board, an Antek toroid transformer 23V 400VA to provide power, a 35,000uf 80v filter capacitor, (2) Superior Electric SS2000MD4 drives, and a CandCNC mini-io breakout board.

This assembly supports the end of the leadscrew in bearings and provides for mounting the stepper.
